题目二:Reassessing Knowledge Spillovers in Agri-innovation: The Impact of Innovation-driven Entrepreneurship Clustering on Patenting
主讲人:张荫泽 博士生
摘要:
Clustering generates knowledge spillovers, evidence from the agricultural sector is scarce, though. We examine this mechanism using a longitudinal dataset of county-level agribusinesses. Our results show that a 1 percentage point increase in the national share of innovation-driven entrepreneurship (IDE) increases patent applications per IDE firm by 5.56%. To address selection bias, we employ a distributed lag model and a shift-share instrumental variable based on input-output linkages. A simple counterfactual analysis reveals that, if IDE firms were uniformly distributed across cities within each industry, the aggregate patent count of IDE firms in 2023 would decline by 6.27%. This paper addresses specific technical concerns identified in Moretti (2021).
题目三:Land Borrowed by the Sun: Ecological Trade-offs of China's Subsidized Photovoltaic Development
主讲人:曾培 博士生
摘要:
Motivated by ecological sustainability concerns, this study uses a DID model to examine China’s PV projects. While PV projects boost economic development and household income, they produce minor environmental benefits alongside negative impacts. A government-enterprise-household framework reveals three mechanisms: official incentives, profit-driven enterprises, and low environmental awareness among farmers. Stronger regulations and supervision can mitigate harm.
