主讲题目：Has Chinese Oversea Investment in Energy Resources Promoted Its Energy Security?

报告摘要：

China’s oversea investment in energy sector has soared in recent years. The motivations of these investment behavior is arguably attached to enhance China’s energy security given China’s large oil deficit. However whether the oversea investment actually contribute to China’s energy security is an open question. The current debate is mostly built on incidental evidence and lacks rigorous analysis. This paper conducts an econometric study to examine the relationship between China’s oversea energy investment and energy security using a panel dataset compiled from the China Global Investment Tracker and China Custom Dataset between 2005 and 2017. The primary results show that the oversea investment does promote the energy security by increasing the oil importation from the destination country.

主讲人简介：

宋枫，经济学博士，现任中国人民大学副教授。她的研究兴趣和研究领域是资源与环境经济学，尤其是涉及中国能源经济问题，包括中国的能源效率，可再生能源发展和电力部门改革。 在加入人民大学之前，她毕业于密歇根州立大学，获得环境与资源经济学博士学位。研究成果发表与American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, Energy Economics and Energy Policy.
