PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
He have over 25 years of development experience with the World Bank, and have worked on agriculture development in South Asia, Africa, and Middle East and North Africa. Presently, he manage an agricultural lending portfolio of US$2 billion serving East Africa countries, and manage a program of analytical and advisory services and project operations covering irrigation, research, extension, agricultural inputs, agribusiness value chains, institutional development, livestock/pastoral development, agricultural policies, regional agricultural development and agricultural livelihoods. He currently manage over 25 agricultural professional staff of diverse nationalities. Before his current position, he was manager for the Partnerships and Capacity Development Unit of the Africa Region, in which he led major partnership initiatives and supervised a major study on Brazil’s relation with Africa, resulting in the report, Brazil and Africa: South-South Partnering for Growth.
