会议背景
贫困是一个全球性问题，发展中国在通过实现发展从而消除贫困的努力中遭遇了许多困难与挑战。在当前全球性金融危机影响下，发展中国家愈加面临着史无前例的艰巨任务与挑战。为了缓解贫困、加强发展中国家间的合作、最大限度地减小国际金融危机的不利影响、促进发展中国家间的合作研究与相互交流，由浙江大学、国际食物政策研究所（IFPRI）、英国国际发展署共同主办“首届国际南南合作与发展论坛”。本次论坛由浙江大学中国农村发展研究院和国际食物政策研究所北京办事处具体承办。
