With the growing integration into the world economy, ensuring a smooth transition in rural China has reached top priority in the Chinese government agenda. The importance of rural areas goes far beyond the economic sphere, and concerns environmental and social questions. - Transformation of the rural economy and its implications for farming income and food
security
- Development of off-farm activities in rural areas
