【摘要】 深圳、苏州、北京、成都四个城市的个案访谈资料表明:农民工城市社会地位的获得受到诸多制度性障碍的限制,主要表现在农民工的身份认同、地域排斥等方面。在城市生活中,农民工主要通过教育和技能实现向上流动,而逆向流动则是他们面临城市社会排斥的一种无奈选择。
【英文摘要】 Using the data of case interviews at Shenzhen,Suzhou,Beijing,and Chengdu,the four cities of China,this article analyzes the migrant worker's status attainment and main approaches of upward mobility at cities.The migrant worker's status attainment at cities is restricted by some rigid institutional walls——status identification,district exclusion,and other aspects.In their urban life,the migrant workers obtain opportunity of upward mobility most by education and skill.However,they have to return rural society...
